Forced to be brief

The major thing I struggle with when creating my caps is brevity.  I enjoy creating all the details in my stories, laboring over the adjectives and adverbs, working endlessly to create the sense of place and time that I envision in my head.  As a result, the first draft of my caps often end up as illustrated short stories.  I then need to work at editing and removing details to create a 1 or 2 panel cap - hopefully one that still has a good flow as it tells my story.

Several months ago, Rachel's Haven held a monthly cap contest that required each cap to consist entirely of dialogue.  It was a good exercise for me to work on my brevity, while still creating a cap I could be proud of.  Here are my 2 entries for the contest:

What do you think?  And don't feel the need to be brief - shower me with loving, adoring, admiring praise!!

A Natural Woman

It's been forever and a day since I've posted anything to my own blog! RL has been soooo hectic lately (and promises to remain that way for a while) that I thought I'd take this chance to post some of my older work.

I much prefer seeing a woman that looks beautiful using the body and face she was born with to a woman that created her beauty in the plastic surgeon's office and beauty parlors.  It made me think that these un-natural women spend more time, money and effort to look beautiful than a guy that transforms himself into a woman.  So I made this cap for Shauna at Rachel's Haven about this very subject.

Could you blame Stacey's boyfriend for enjoying their time together? IF it actually happened.  I know I'd never suck and tell!  Oh, who am I kidding???
